Overview

Sevatec, Inc. is seeking a Senior Java Developer to support a highly visible project within a Federal Highway Agency. Sevatec provides services that are vital to operate FHWA's Headquarters and its 60 field locations nationwide. The scope of the project includes seven primary task areas in support of FHWA's IT systems including Application Software Development. The successful candidates will analyze, design, develop, enhance, debug, and deploy new software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, test, enhances, debugs, document and deploy new software applications.
  • Contributes in all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoots production problems related to existing software applications.
  • Interacts with project teams and stakeholders to identify application requirements.
  • Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience developing with Java and J2EE Technologies.
  • Experience with Intellij, jquery and Java security certificate package (preferred)
  • College degree in computer science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience building applications with frameworks such as Struts or Spring MVC or Swing or Hibernate Web Frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience working with relational database design and development. Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS3 and client side programming
  • Experience in leading the design and development of applications utilizing J2EE, Servlets, JSP, Struts and Web Services, PL-SQL, Section 508
  • Extensive knowledge of software testing, SDLC and Agile working environment.
  • Proven experience in developing code, testing, and debugging new software or enhancements to existing software.
  • Applies design concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Excellent communication (i.e., ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience) and writing skills.
  • Experience with .NET technology

Security Clearance:  Must be able to obtain a government agency public trust clearance.
