Overview

The Oracle Database Administrator has the responsibility of designing logical and physical database structures, partitioning of tables, data loading, creating roles, working with ODS and designing Data Marts, performance tuning in Oracle 11g, Solaris, Windows and Enterprise Data Warehousing development environment. This responsibility includes, not limited to, identifying, researching and resolving database design, development and performance issues, and maintaining documentation.

 

This effort will be supporting Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence development. The DBA will work with the government, and Scrum team in designing and developing the Data Marts. The DBA will focus on database performance and assists ETL staff in the efficient data ingest of mission critical data. 

Responsibilities

  • Support System Architects, ETL Engineers and Business Intelligence Engineers to obtain the most optimal configuration.
  • Design and Develop database objects.
  • Enforce standards for data types and security.
  • Denormalizing the models based on potential queries, reporting, and system feeds that will be generated from the tables.
  • Creating the databases and database objects such as the tables, table spaces, synonyms, views, and triggers.
  • Design and Develop stored procedures, defaults, domains, and indexes.
  • Data loading from disparate, multiple source systems.
  • Designing and Developing Data Marts.
  • Propose and Implement enhancements that will improve performance and reliability of existing database systems.
  • Performance monitoring and summary table creation.
  • Assist ETL developers in Agile development process.
  • Support Informatica and OBIEE teams.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4 + years of Oracle DBA experience.
  • Working experience in Enterprise Data Warehousing development environment.
  • Experience with the Solaris UNIX Operating System.
  • Knowledge and understanding of designing and developing PL/SQL Stored Procedures, triggers and Query Optimization techniques. 
  • Experience in working with high volume data loads
  • Performance tuning of SQL queries.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle 10g/11g infrastructure.
  • Experience in using RDBMS IDE tools such as: SQL Developer, TOAD, Erwin etc.

Qualifications

 Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Oracle DBA certification
  • Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Professional Certificate
  • Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional Certificate
  • Informatica PowerCenter / PowerExchange Experience
  • Oracle OBIEE Report Design/Development Experience

Security Clearance: US Citizenship is required along with the ability to obtain an Agency Suitability Clearance.
