Overview

Sevatec, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to perform network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks. Selected candidates will be expected to analyze design, specifications, and related documents. Analyze network characteristics (e.g. traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes and throughput); and troubleshoot problems and recommend procurement of and/or modifications to network components.  The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to identify the status of the infrastructure as well as opportunities to collapse, simplify and optimize the access and distribution layer switches.   

Responsibilities

  • Create Assessment reports to simplify and modernize current access and distribution layer switches.
  • Document the methodology for identifying, assessing, and managing technology for use and in use in the IT infrastructure, systems, and by services.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of network security, DMZ configuration, PKI, firewall rules to manage and maintain security and network connections made between system to system and system to user.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on matters related to application, data, physical and network layer of the infrastructure.
  • Design, implement, manage and provide subject matter expertise on system virtualization to include servers, switches, routers and other infrastructure related devices.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering and operations and 3 years specialized experience deploying security products (Firewalls, IDS/IPS devices, Lancope, SourceFire IDS, Cisco ISE, ForeScout CounterACT, etc.).
  • Contractors shall have one of the following active certifications: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Security, CCIE Wireless, CCIE Data Center, CCIE Routing & Switching, Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security), or other comparable certification or experience, which must be approved in advance by the Government Program Manager on a case-by-case basis.
  • Contractors shall be proficient in configuring, securing, and creating custom rule sets for: Cisco Nexus, Flexpod, IOS, Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Sourcefire and any other additional networking technologies introduced by the Government during the duration of the contract.
  • Prior experience utilizing Cisco Prime, Orion Solarwinds or another configuration management tool to create enforceable configuration templates. 
  • Contractors shall be located at the government’s facility in Williston, VT.

Security Clearance:  Must be a US Citizen and able to attain a Government Agency clearance.
