Have you led teams in accessing computing, storage, software, and network resources on demand in the Cloud? Or are you an expert in protecting critical mission systems and data from Cyber threats? Sevatec is the preeminent mid-tier agile-focused company serving the national security sector and we want to meet technically savvy, growth-minded business leaders to transform how our DHS Headquarters and Federal Law Enforcement customers operate. We are seeking a Senior Director to lead our newly established Business Unit focused on DHS HQ, ICE and CBP accounts. As a key member of the senior management team, this position plays an integral role in influencing the company culture, executing our strategic plan across organic growth and ensuring customer satisfaction through operational delivery. This position is located at our Crystal City, Virginia location and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.            

Responsibilities

Operations

  • In Operations, you will directly lead and mentor teams fulfilling program execution, help identify innovative solutions to advance our customers’ missions and support project start-ups.
  • Lead by example and foster the company's "Inspired to Serve" culture across all customer and company engagements.
  • Accountable for all operational performance parameters of the portfolio (e.g. contractual, management, resourcing, technical, financial, risk, etc.) within established contract compliance requirements and quality standards. Provide hands-on surge support to individual programs, as required.
  • Build and maintain effective client, partner, and vendor relationships. Implement a customer care plan to ensure a high level of satisfaction with all clients.
  • Proactively identify issues and opportunities; engage resources appropriately. Serve as the main point of resolution beyond the program manager for any business issues that arise.
  • Engage with the program managers and clients to identify viable innovations which advance the customer’s mission objectives.
  • Develop a high performing team by setting clear expectations of accountability and expected results. Mentor and develop employees with proactive feedback on individual and team performances.
  • Establish and manage to program and indirect budget targets.
  • Facilitate cross-functional cooperation and promote collaboration through the corporation to achieve the firm’s short-term and long-term goals.
  • Identify corporate process improvement initiatives to enhance operational delivery and effectiveness.

 

Growth

  • With growth, you will have a leadership role resulting in winning solutions for Sevatec’s federal clients.
  • You will work with current customers to identify opportunities to provide new value-added services to better achieve the client's mission and Business Development to develop pipeline roadmaps and responses for prospective customers’ requirements. 
  • Serve as Capture Manager and work with Proposal teams to create proposal strategies for developing discriminating win themes to address customers’ business challenges throughout the business development lifecycle to include sources sought, requests for information and proposal responses.
  • Identify and manage SMEs, technical writers and consultants to address the requirements, instructions, and evaluation criteria set forth by the solicitation and in Sevatec’s requirements-driven outline.
  • Own the Integrated Master Schedules and Work Breakdown Structure during the proposal lifecycle and serve as a lead author in creating winning solutions, inclusive of color team reviews.
  • Interface with illustrators to conceptualize graphics, figures, tables and other presentation techniques to optimize the presentation of information.
  • Lead the development of proposal demos, briefings and oral presentations which illustrate Sevatec’s depth of program delivery.
  • Support the overarching pricing strategy, formation of staffing plans and development of the basis of estimates that align to the technical and management approaches.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with profitably managing and growing a contract portfolio at the executive level in DHS Headquarters, ICE or CBP components.
  • PMP Certification required
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management or related field; technical backgrounds will be considered favorably.
  • Minimum of 15 years of management level experience with 5+ years of recent experience leading proposals on multiple opportunities ranging from $10-$250M.
  • Experience developing strategic plans to innovatively execute customer missions while cost-effectively managing risk. Must have the expertise across operational and technical areas to assess scope of work and formulate accurate work plans, cost and schedule models.
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated sense of urgency, time management and organizational skills to responsibly and decisively solve problems either independently or collaboratively, as a member of a team with a diverse range of skills, experience, and personalities.
  • Exceptional soft skills as well as written and verbal communication skills necessary to engage and negotiate with senior level customers, colleagues and partners.
  • Demonstrated experience to grasp new concepts, develop solutions from loosely defined business problems and write about complex subject matter contributing to winning business development results.
  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible for DHS security clearance(s).

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Master Degree preferred.
  • Technical certifications such Scrum Master, ITIL, AWS, CISSP or similar preferred.
