As the Senior Director of Business Development (Tactical), you will own a leadership role in our business development organization identifying and prosecuting shorter-term and task-order based opportunities across Sevatec’s portfolio of accounts and contract vehicles that result in delivering superior proposals for Sevatec’s federal government clients and contract awards. The Senior Director serves as the primary focal point on all matters pertaining tactical business opportunities within Sevatec’s business development pipeline; working with the Business Development, Innovations and Operations resources to prosecute opportunities.  The Senior Director will be responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of capture and business development functions for tactical opportunities including transition to proposal development and operations. This often requires engaging and leading teams of personnel at multiple locations.   Efforts may be in support of Federal Civilian, National Security, Federal Healthcare or other markets and will encompass a wide range of contract vehicles including GSA Alliant 2, GSA Alliant Small Business 2, GSA 8(a) STARS II, ITES-3S, CMS SPARC, GSA Schedule 70, and GSA PSS.  You will work in a leadership role with the tactical growth team applying our quick-turn and task order capture and proposal development process to win task-order type contracting opportunities. Successful capture and proposal efforts are what deliver contracts for the firm, which means that you will be at the forefront of determining the company’s future growth and direction.


  • Participate as an opportunity leader representing the growth team following Sevatec’s tactical growth gate process
  • Capture and manage tactical prime and subcontract opportunities through proposal submission
  • Identify opportunities from current and future contract vehicles for pursuit that are targets for our tactical growth process, find teaming partners that help address the requirements, and deploy the team effectively to respond successfully to RFPs
  • Create strategies for mining task order opportunities from Sevatec contract vehicles and developing recurring partnerships and synergies with small and large business partners
  • Manage small business engagement, partnerships and participation on Unrestricted contract vehicles
  • Develop strategies for quickly sharing information with partners to initiate teaming
  • Achieve tactical growth submission and win targets as assigned by Chief Growth Officer
  • Enhance and improve tactical growth processes and procedures and response rate and pWin
  • Engage with Federal program and contractual leaders from contract vehicles and actively participate in industry groups and forums
  • Participate thoughtfully in business development pipeline and strategy discussions. Support strategic planning and process improvement in BD and Capture.
  • Organize and assign responsibilities to team members and oversee the successful completion of all assigned tasks
  • Identify and build teaming partnerships to expand business development opportunities
  • Attend meetings and conferences, as required
  • Write, edit, and proofread proposal materials in response to client requests and requirements while meeting established schedules and deadlines
  • Participate in the creation of marketing and multi-media presentation materials
  • Coordinate with Business Development and Solutions team members to deliver responses to sources sought notices and formal requests for information from the federal government
  • Interface with the senior levels of the customer’s organization and internal
  • Source and evaluate opportunities to meet the strategic goals of the organization
  • Assume the initiative and provide support to other Sevatec personnel in identifying and acquiring potential business
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and other meetings where Federal Government has a significant presence



  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10 years professional experience 
  • 3+ years of related experience leading captures of task-order type contracts on large Federal IDIQs and GWACs
  • 5+ years of Federal Business Development or Capture experience in services similar to Sevatec’s offerings
  • Ability to provide leadership and direct support in the areas of BD and capture management to include guiding team to develop long-term and short-term plans
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to both work independently and function effectively as a leader of a team
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly, develop effective processes, and write about complex subject matter
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, handling multiple simultaneous projects with stringent deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people with a variety of skills, experience, and personalities
