Overview

Provide REMOTE end-user and back-end maintenance support for the DHS, Homeland Security Information System [HSIN].  HSIN is a Web-based, Sensitive but Unclassified, IT system that provides Federal, State, Local, Tribal, Private Sector and International stakeholders with an effective and efficient system for timely information sharing, collaboration, decision making, and situational awareness. Will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, planning and implementation of solutions, upgrades and patches for applications in a mixed Linux and Windows environment.  Will be responsible for maintaining the business and presentation tier applications that support collaboration and communication capabilities such conferencing, messaging, and document sharing.  Must be available to be on-call and support special project needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and configure Linux and Windows server environments. Experience installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, monitoring and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux [RHEL] and Windows 2012 Servers.
  • Implement Active Directory/Local Group, and RHEL specific security services to enforce security requirements and standards
  • Patch and update Linux/Windows OS, middleware and applications including SharePoint, Adobe Connect, Exchange, Mattermost, Oracle Identity Management Suite
  • Ensure sound backup and recovery of HSIN servers using NetBackup
  • Automate tasks to improve efficiency. (Knowledge of Scripting)
  • Create and maintain environment documentation
  • Deploy and maintain third party software on Windows Servers
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support in the resolution of technical issues from users
  • Coordinate with team members and other service support groups to effectively resolve incidents and requests
  • Configure and update Local Area Network [LAN] devices
  • Assist in patch management and version control, including the preparation of documents for Change Control Board approvals.

Qualifications

  • Must have 5 or more years of professional IT experience with Linux and Windows System Administration. Linux experience is priority
  • Experience administering Linux and Windows server environments including LAN architecture.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, VLANS, and load balancing
  • Experience with operating and maintaining collaboration and communication applications. Preference for Adobe Connect, Mattermost Chat, Exchange
  • Experience backing up and restoring servers and data using Netbackup

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • SharePoint administration experience a plus!

 

Security Clearance:  Must be a US Citizen and have a Secret Clearance
