Do you want to join a collaborative, innovative team?  Sevatec, Inc., a high-technology services firm specializing in Agile/DevOps, Data & Analytics, Cyber Engineering, and Cloud services is looking for talented College Graduates to become a part of our Innovations Team (I-Team) under the CTO organization as a Data Scientist. The Data Scientist will be mentored by the I-Team leadership and will have access to the latest Big Data and Analytics technologies.


The Junior Data Scientist to be responsible for creating various visualizations and reports. This new hire will work with senior members of the team in modeling business problems, discovering new insights and identifying opportunities within the realm of immigration data using statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. The Data Visualization/Jr. Data Scientist will work closely with clients, data stewards, project/program managers, and other I-T teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound agency decisions.



  • Provides business metrics using various data visualization tools for the client to show improvements
  • Prototype and evaluate data visualization tools
  • Participate in the data discovery processes with stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome.
  • Models and frames business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions.
  • Identifies what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources, leveraging new data collection processes, as appropriate.
  • Develops innovative and effective approaches to solve client's analytics problems and communicates results and methodologies.
  • Works in iterative processes (following Agile methodologies) with the client and validates findings.


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in statistics or computer science or IT or related field.
  • Exposure to various statistical techniques
  • The ability to come up with solutions to loosely defined business problems by leveraging pattern detection over potentially large datasets
  • Experience with statistical programming tools (e.g. R) and packages (e.g. SAS)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of some programming language: Ruby/Angular/JavaScript/C#/Python/Java



Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain an Agency Suitability clearance.
