  • Overview

    Sevatec is seeking to hire a Cyber Security Systems Administration Team Lead for a NOAA client in Fairmont, West Virginia. This person will Lead a system administration support team that will support an inventory of approximately 700 devices including Windows servers, workstations, laptops and appliances.  The Lead System Administrator tracks and applies all required patches, conducts vulnerability scans and performs backups to ensure the continuous and secure availability of customer IT assets.


    • Manages the team who installs, configures, and maintains operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements within an decentralized environment.
    • Tracks performance of software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
    • Works closely with the IT security Team to maintain the system's security and accreditation
    • Ensures implementation of these security measures by conducting security reviews and system
    • Assist with the implementation of comprehensive monitoring solutions to track the health of IT infrastructure
    • Track and apply all required patches, IAW NIST and Commerce Interim Technical Requirements (CITR) standards
    • Perform Vulnerability scans
    • Verifies users' access requests are approved; controls users'
    • Performs backups of environments and applications
    • May require off hours support of critical incidents


    • At least Seven (7) years of experience with Windows environments
    • Proven experience in planning and implementing infrastructure upgrades and patch management.
    • At least 1 year of experience in a Team Lead capacity.
    • Hands-on experience establishing and maintaining imaging and baseline library of servers and end-user workstations.
    • Demonstrates experience in the creation and management of technical documentation.
    • Candidates with strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Shall be capable of working independently as well as part of a larger group under minimal/moderate supervision.


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with SNMP solutions, specifically NAGIOS
    • IT security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, etc.
    • Experience with virtualization technologies to include RHEV with Windows Server 2003, 2003 R2, 2008, 2008 R2; on 32 and 64 bit VMs and VMware
    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
    • Experience with remote access solutions
    • Experience performing vulnerability scans
    • Experience with FireEye, Mandiant, MacAfee Web Gateway, Blue Coat
    • Hands on experience with operating and managing classified and unclassified IT security / Information Assurance solutions in the context of Federal IT Security regulations and guidance such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-37 and FIPS 199 is a plus.


    Security Clearance:  Applicants selected must be U.S. Citizens and will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Top Secret candidates preferred.
