  • Overview

    Sevatec, Inc. is looking for a talented Data Architect to add to their dynamic team supporting a highly visible National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) federal contract. The position will have responsibilities for the development and Operations and Maintenance(O&M) of NCUA’s enterprise-wide data architecture, providing oversight of the data architecture artifacts, and mentor delivery team in the application of the data architecture. The architect is responsible to ensure continuity of legacy data stores and to assist in building NCUA’s strategic vision for the future.  The Architect will also be responsible for providing continuous institutional knowledge through the length of the contract and providing expert knowledge of the data environment to developers in their O&M responsibilities.


    • Support both operational and analytic information needs, while architecting a clearly defined system of record for enterprise data elements.
    • Architect the preservation and support of existing data structures and integrate legacy data with new data structure.
    • Design and develop new datasets, data feeds, reports, and analysis features ensuring high performance and future scalability; champion the adoption of data warehousing best practices to improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of our data warehouse
    • Reviews and analyzes on-going customer requests for new data elements to be brought into the existing model, for customizations or cross-walking of existing data elements, for computation of new fields based on customer-provided business logic, combinations of existing data elements, etc.
    • Devises data verification and quality methods and standard systems procedures that will be used to support Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence platforms
    • Participates in certain aspects of user consulting, systems analysis, general systems design, vendor contracts and detail systems design
    • Partner with Business Analysts and internal customers to improve our data coverage and analytic capabilities; Develop project plans, including accurate timelines, project documentation, and performance benchmarks for the development of new features
    • Continuously improve the performance of features; analyze, diagnose and correct performance problems Detect, diagnose, and repair data quality errors and identify and implement technical and process improvements to prevent future data quality errors
    • Liaison to product area developer and support teams
    • Define best practices and standards for database design.
    • Serve as a thought leader, mentor and advocate for best practices concerning data Architecture.



    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and minimum 4 years’ experience; or equivalent related work experience with 5 years of direct experience.
    • Experience with conceptual and logical data modeling activities.
    • Understanding of logical functional/data decomposition activities.  
    • Excellent analytical skills to identify data requirements for different business processes.  
    • Experience with SQL.  
    • Understands data requirements for business processes and lead identification of information assets and related data fields.  
    • Works with Business Owners and Subject Matter Experts to identify authoritative data sources for different data elements. 
    • Understands how data will be used in upstream/downstream requirements and acquisition documentation.  
    • Develops data reference model and conceptual data model.
    • Experience with Informatica, SQL 2008/2012/2014/2016, MicroStrategy, and MySQL
    • Knowledge of full project lifecycle and ability to communicate requirements to clients and developers
    • Strong teamwork, co-ordination, planning and influencing skills.
    • Self-driven, and ability to work at pace in a dynamic organization.
    • Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills.

    Desired Skills/Experience:

    • Federal contracting experience
    • Related technical certifications
    • Experience with Agile/Scrum

    Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Government Agency Clearance.
