    Sevatec, Inc. is seeking a Business Analyst to assist in activities supporting a highly visible government client.  The client has been tasked with delivering Data-driven application development and related advanced engineering and technical support services, Subject matter expertise and engineering support, and Support for open data projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Elicit customer requirements using techniques such as interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
    • Collaborate with Product Owners (PO), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and developers to understand the customer needs and translate that into the product backlog.
    • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
    • Define detailed stories with applicable acceptance criteria in collaboration with the Product Owners and technology team.
    • Assist the Product Owner with the development of the team’s backlog in JIRA and assist with regularly scheduled grooming sessions.
    • Work closely with developers to support the Agile development process.
    • Ensure that the team understands requirements to successfully meet business goals.
    • Inform Product Owner if changes occur that will impact delivery to the business.
    • Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
    • Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
    • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
    • Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) and 4-6 years of experience providing mid-level level direction in business analysis activities to bridge the gap between the end-user and the developer.
    • Supports High level financial, business, and economic processes and matters related to investment decisions analysis, business case development, cost-benefit/tradeoff analyses, cost analysis, risk analysis, software cost estimation, economic analysis, budget formulation and justification.
    • Able to perform mid-level IT technical services and management tasks in a range of areas, including system design, development, administration, operation and maintenance, quality of assurance of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user requirements, and implementation for data, documentations, hardware, software, security, and network systems.
    • Strong writing and communication skills required.
    • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
    • Excellent communication skills (ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience)
    • Experience with both traditional Waterfall SDLC and Agile / Lean methodologies.
    • Excellent writing skills

    Security Clearance:  Must be a Green Card holder or US Citizen and capable of obtaining a Government Agency Public Trust.
